"...acquire a particular quality by constantly acting a particular way...you become just by performing just actions, temperate by performing temperate actions, brave by performing brave actions" - Aristotle
TRANSFORMATION
A zealous young white woman who wanted to know how she might help improve race relations in America once asked Malcolm X, “What can a well-meaning white woman do?"
Malcolm responded with ice-cold conviction, “Nothing.”
During a religious pilgrimage a few years later the fiery black-separatist-turned-humanist realized his mistake. Recognizing that the time he spent hating whites had been wasted, Malcolm transformed his hatred into a spirit of unity and reconciliation.
Shortly before his assassination he said of that woman he’d rejected years earlier, "I've lived to regret that incident.”
The symbolic space that exists in every one of our lives between those words “nothing” and “regret” is what Know Good White People is about: TRANSFORMATION
